At the end of January, I received an email from Jill. She had an unexpected but brilliant idea. She and a group of friends would be arriving in Ensenada on a Carnival Cruise ship on an upcoming Saturday and wanted to volunteer with us for the day if we had anything available.
We’d never had an Amoveo Group cruise excursion, but it sounded like the timing was ideal. Ben and Pastor Jose were in the final days of finishing the first floor of the new children’s classroom at Ministerio La Palmera, and those new walls needed to be painted. But paint is expensive and it can take a long time to paint.
Enter Jill and her 15 hardworking friends. They knocked out all of that painting in about 4 hours. Plus, we had fun and ate the best tamales in Ensenada, prepared by Pastor Jose and Pastora Alejandra.
That’s something we love about this work. God brings people from unexpected places to move things forward in unexpected ways. Or, unexpected on our end.
But each time it happens I walk away more confident that God has had this planned out all along.
We’re in the process of raising the final $5000 to complete the second floor of the children’s classes at Ministero La Palmera and again we have an unexpected opportunity. Someone has generously offered to match up to $2,500 to get the project funded.
Would you consider joining him in this work?
