According to the UN World Food Program, nearly 22% of Haitian children are chronically malnourished, and 66 percent of children under five are anemic. Oftentimes school is the only place a child will have to get a nutritious meal. However, with schools being closed down because of Covid-19, natural disasters and political or economic upheaval are too often. This creates a food insecurity issue for thousands of children. After listening to community leaders, Amoveo began a feeding program called Fill their Bellies. In July of 2022, due to staff transition at Amoveo, we now partner with a local non-profit to facilitate this program.
Three times a week, children from the community will gather in Leogane, Haiti, to eat a warm, nutritious meal, play games, and experience a safe, loving environment.
No child should have to worry about where their next meal will come from. Please see the donation opportunities to sponsor a child to make sure they have access to food every week. We welcome foundations, churches, schools, or individuals to get involved.
