Location: Mexico For: High School Construction Adult
Work project at the Boy's Home in Santo Tomas. A team will work on building the home for kids with special needs. This home will house kids with special needs and provide an opportunity for them to get an education and integrate into society.
How You'll Serve

There are two ways to serve doing construction projects in Ensenada, Mexico. At the Oasis Boy's Home, we are working on building a home for kids with special needs. This home will allow Oasis to serve about 25 children with special needs that may not have another opportunity elsewhere. You can also help to build homes for families in need in Maneadero. Several families don't have the means to obtain a home and are living in less than ideal conditions. A home can be built over the course of one week by a volunteer team of at least 7 people. You will build lifelong relationships with the homeowners during that week.

Where You'll Stay

The Encuentro Missions Base offers a comfortable bunkhouse setting inside a gated property. It includes individual showers, eating facilities, and plenty of space to plan and debrief. On the property are a fire pit and comfortable places to sit back and interact with other members of your team.

Typical Schedule

Arrival and orientation is on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday you visit the work location and begin planning for the week of construction with your foreman. Each week has 4.5 days of construction projects with a 1/2 day visiting a beautiful Pacific Ocean beach and relaxing from your work. The departure is on Saturday.
