Immerse yourself in Dominican culture while making a lasting impact on local youth. Serve through light construction, camp setup, and by mentoring campers. This rewarding experience blends hands-on work with cultural immersion and beautiful landscapes.
How You'll Serve
This mission trip offers a unique blend of service opportunities. Your week will be divided into two distinct, yet equally impactful, phases:
- Preparation (Monday - Wednesday): The first part of the week is dedicated to preparing the camp facilities. You'll engage in light construction projects, decorate the grounds, set up for activities, and help with other essential tasks to create an amazing environment for the youth.
- Camp Participation (Thursday - Sunday): Once the camp begins, your role will shift based on your age:
- Participants (13-22 years old): You will join the camp as an attendee, building relationships with local youth, participating in all activities, and serving as a positive role model.
- Support Staff (23+ years old): You will become a vital part of the camp's operational team. Your responsibilities will be assigned based on your skills and may include leading media and photography, assisting with cleaning, teaching workshops, providing handyman support, or preparing for craft sessions.
Where You'll Stay
Embrace an authentic missionary experience by staying at a local school facility. Volunteers will sleep on air mattresses in a communal setting. Please note that there is no air conditioning or hot water. You will need to bring your own comfortable, single-sized air mattress.
For those who prefer different arrangements, alternative housing options are available. Please contact us for more details.
