Amoveo's work in the Dominican Republic centers on our collaboration with seven Kids Alive Schools and three residential programs. These initiatives aim to transform the lives of at-risk children, fostering future Christian leaders who can positively influence their families, communities, and country. The holistic care approach addresses the severe needs of these youths, providing them with nurturing environments for growth. Despite their challenging backgrounds, the goal is for each child or youth to leave with a strong relationship with God, physical and emotional wellness, the ability to help others, a desire to serve, and a life free from fear and violence in a safe home and community. How You'll Serve

We desire to utilize our teams' skills and passions in the best way possible to help with our vision and mission. Teams are often involved in the following:

Spiritual lessons in the form of Bible lessons or dramas
Sports clinics, competitions, or engaging games
Science projects or math manipulatives
Art projects with children of various ages
Maintenance and construction work such as painting and classroom or playground
construction.
Dental or health work
Classroom teaching or special education training

Where You'll Stay

Teams are housed in modern, clean residential housing with running water and electricity (most of the time). Visitors should expect to sleep in bunk beds, though some special accommodations can be made.

Typical Schedule

Arrive on Saturday at SDQ (Las Américas International Airport, the international airport located in Punta Caucedo, near Santo Domingo and Boca Chica in the Dominican Republic.)

Sunday: Church, orientation, historic or cultural excursion

Monday-Thursday—Projects at the worksite (lunch on site, breakfast, and dinner at team house)

Friday—excursion and debrief.

Saturday—Departure (SDQ)
